Everyone knows animatronics are creepy as hell. From the early forms that were dead-eyed and robotic to the newer, unsettlingly human-like ones we see at theme parks and gimmicky grocery stores, they've pretty much always been kinda terrifying. This week, though, Disney's California Theme Park took the horror to a whole new level when a few of its robotic characters suffered a disturbing malfunction.

Friend: Did you see what happened to Ursula's head?

Turns out some kiddos got a bit more than they bargained for on Ariel's Undersea Adventure ride, when Ursula's head decided it would detach from its body. What's even creepier is that the electronic sea witch's facial expressions were still moving as she sang along like everything was totally fine. One park-goer who was on the ride during the malfunction told Huffpost"Immediately after we got off we were ushered out along with everyone else, and the employees looked very concerned. Many people had seen Ursula decapitated, including kids who understandably were upset.”

This happened today which caught me off guard because Disney is usually so critical over things like this😂 #offwithherhead ! pic.twitter.com/biGGYG6ec2

Overseas, another Disney park was apparently experiencing similar difficulties. In Disneyland Paris, one of the auctioneers from the Pirates of the Carribbean ride also lost his head. People were starting to wonder if the Queen of Hearts had wandered into the rides...
