ComplexCon is a few days away and eBay is bringing the heat by taking sneaker lover’s dreams from the screen to reality.
Sneaker vet and podcaster Bimma Williams will host eBay’s sneaker-filled space with lively games and dope prizes, including sneaker giveaways. (Yes, we said sneaker giveaways.) On Saturday, Nov. 19, Williams will kick the weekend off with a game stemming from Complex’s new series Guess The Sneaker. The namesake game will give shoe lovers the opportunity to show off their knowledge and take home an eBay gift card if they can guess which pair of shoes Williams is thinking of. If participants guess the shoes correctly, they’ll win an eBay gift card. But if they get it wrong, well, there’s always a consolation prize—in this case, it’s also an eBay gift card (just not the same amount). If trivia isn’t their thing, attendees can go toe-to-toe in the brag-worthy Sneaker Battle, where random teams of five will compete in categories such as Sneaker Best Collab and Best Retro Sneaker. Winners will receive eBay gift cards and bragging rights.
After the games, Bimma will take the eBay stage alongside the hosts of The Complex Sneakers Podcast—Joe La Puma, Brendan Dunne, and Matt Welty—to dive into topics about the elements of sneaker culture, its ties to ComplexCon, and the latest trends on the market. The Sneaker Podcast crew will take questions from the crowd on Saturday and answer them on Sunday. Fans can submit their questions through the Sole Collector App. If someone’s question is selected and answered by the hosts, that person will win a pair of sneakers. And if you don’t win anything on Saturday, you can spend all Sunday trying again.
Sneakers will be set up across two walls throughout the weekend: one featuring shoes created by former Complex Sneakers Podcast guests and the other featuring sneakers purchased by past guests while on Sneaker Shopping. Only a few of these are up for grabs, so have your phones ready to scan the QR code at the eBay booth for more info. And for those looking to purchase, attendees can reserve a spot to step inside eBay’s retail pop-up shop and cop sneakers, provided by SoleStage, at a friends-and-family rate—it’s the brand’s 11th anniversary, so we know the deals are going to be good.
