Marcus Troy's 5 Cool Things I Saw This Week (April 23-29)

Complex's lifestyle columnist explores the world with his keen eye for the interesting and absurd.

This week had me pondering life and my responsibilities; opportunities are being thrown at me like fastballs and I feel like I need to slow down and refocus. I don't want to take this life for granted and I really want to explore the world and see what's out there. Spending time with my friends and family has become more and more rewarding and traveling seems to inspire me more than ever. I should be in NYC next week, so look out for me. I love that you guys keep coming back every week to see what I am up to. I appreciate the love!

I Miss the Expos

WHAT: Vintage Expos Jerseys

WHERE: Real Sports, Toronto

WHEN: Monday (April 25), 5 p.m.

I remember the time when the Montreal Expos jersey was the item to have. Seeing this jersey just brought back so many memories. Don't be surprised if you see me repping hard for the extinct Expos in the next few months. This shop also has a vintage Don Cherry Blazer! Ha! I guess it's all part of the Canadian heritage.

The Traveling Pants

WHAT: Edwins, all thawed out!

WHERE: Outside Ryerson University, Toronto

WHEN: Tuesday (April 26), 8 a.m.

There will forever be surprises when the snow decides to melt. My imagination ran wild for a few minutes when I saw these pretty dope Edwins outside of Ryerson University. I wonder what was the story behind this pair of pants and their owner? How did they end up here and why would anyone get rid of such a dope pair of pants? If you're in the mood to get these refurbished, they're right in the alley behind the school.

Wall of Sound

WHAT: The Much Music Cassette Wall

WHERE: MuchMusic Studio, Toronto

WHEN: Tuesday (April 26), 3:30 p.m.

This week I had a meeting with the folks over at the Rap City TV show at the MuchMusic building. After the meeting they walked me through the building and I stumbled upon this amazing wall of cassettes. My lens was too small to capture the entire wall but it was very cool. All the employees get to put up their favorite albums or tracks on these blank tapes. Pretty awesome.

Biggest Sandwich I've Ever Tried To Eat

WHAT: Chicken sandwich

WHERE: California Sandwiches, Toronto

WHEN: Tuesday (April 26), 5 p.m.

My friends from Nike took me me to this little hole in the wall, California Sandwiches, for the best chicken sandwich of my life. The place was far from glamorous but it sure hit the spot. I'm not even sure how one can finish such a meal. Everything is made from scratch, so it's hot and fresh. Italians really know how to make a great meal.

Cook It Up

WHAT: Eric Johnson's DC Studio Session

WHERE: A kitchen, San Francisco

WHEN: Thursday (April 28), 12 p.m.

I love the way Eric Johnson chose to cook his shoes for his DC Studio Session. This picture came out pretty epic.
