This week was a great time to take advantage of being home. I foresee a lot of travel in my future, so staying close to home base was the move. I'm pretty stoked for the months ahead since I've been planning out my projects and they seem promising. Looking forward to sharing them with y'all. Enjoy!
Student Made Eggs Benny

This past Sunday I went to a baby baptism and we celebrated the occasion afterwards at the L’Academie restaurant. The name is French for "academy," and they employ students who are still learning to cook. I think it's a pretty interesting concept, especially because every meal is student made. I think some people are a bit apprehensive even because the food is not always consistent. I ordered the Eggs Benny and it was amazing! They prepared the Benny a little differently than most places; they layer the cheese among the ham and eggs. Their hollandaise sauce was pretty incredible. It's BYOB, so someone gave us this bottle of Moscato. I’ve never had it before, but it was very good. I guess Drake knows what he is talking about.
A Play on Words

Since I haven't been home in a long time I took the opportunity to catch up with some friends who travel just as much as I do. I met up with my friends Mark and Tim for brunch at the famous Quoi de N'Oeuf which, in English, means "What's New" but is a play on words when said in French. The food is always great. I had the crepes, which was a no brainer, and Mark ordered “The QUEEN,” which turned out to be pretty funny based on our waiter’s reaction. I usually like my crepes with Nutella but this time I tried it with pure chocolate and the outcome was the same—pure tastiness.

When people visit me I love taking them to uncommon food spots. The famous Chad Holmes was in town for the day and we went to My Canh, a small Vietnamese spot in Chinatown that''s been satisfying taste buds for years. This is probably my favorite Vietnamese spot in Montreal. They treat you like Norm from Cheers and serve delicious food that keeps you coming back for more. If you ever catch a cold, they have a soup that will cure you of all symptoms. Chad told me that his meal was fantastic, which is always good to hear. Make sure you get Combo F, a beef plate served with a small soup and rolls. Make sure you let your roll marinate in the sauce for five minutes before eating.

How funny are these t-shirts? The Team Landry fan club is growing in NYC and they’ve made t-shirts to prove it. I think I even saw Landry's mom wearing one of these. You can catch this crew at every home game, repping Landry. I think it's cool to show love for the underdog.
