Oculus Rift developer Teddy0k has been working hard on a first-person cover based shooter to demo the possibilities of the Oculus Rift headset and Razer Hydra motion controller.

The Hydra wand is attached to the player's chest while the joystick is used as a weapon. This configuration allows players to duck behind cover, evade enemy fire and blind fire over obstacles.

"The position tracking adds a tonne to the immersion of being in a virtual world," Teddy wrote in the forum. "Please be careful when playing this demo, lots of people try to support themselves on the crates when they try to stand up or when leaning up against a column, but find there is nothing there!"
