What Excited Us The Most At E3 2013

Release: Fall 2013

The latest title from 505 Games takes a break from the traditional military first person shooter to put gamers into the shoes of a four-person robbery crew. You strategize, organize and then execute jobs ranging from bank heists to drug trafficking. Sure, the Grand Theft Auto series gave us plenty of felonious activity over the years but Payday 2 should be on every gamer's must-have list.

Release: June 2013

The masters of the most powerful graphics cards available decided to jump into the portable console game with their NVIDIA Shield device and it's awesome. Not like there hasn't been other devices with the same form factor and concept but with a brand like NVIDIA, you can't go wrong with the quality. The best part about it is that they've shown that they can back up their claims for being a top contender in the fight to keep life in the dying dedicated portable gaming platform.

Over the last decade, a new Final Fantasy video game comes out, we get hyped and when we finally get in into our hands, we're let down by a weak storyline, bloated fighting system or some other ridiculous feature. Final Fantasy XV looks promising though. From what we can tell from the trailer, FFXV will be ditching its Japanese role playing game roots in exchange for a faster pace, high intensity action and a lot more hair gel. If there's one you you can count on though is that Square Enix's upcoming sequel will make blowing money fast on a next generation video game console totally worth it.

Made by a special plastic that moves when it comes in contact electricity, the ViviTouch technology is what's going to take everything that we loved about the original Rumble tech and make it more exciting. Instead of using the same shake for every type of sound in a game, all of ViviTouch's shakes are dependent on the frequency coming through. In other words, an explosion will feel different from driving on a bumpy road. Because it doesn't require a lot of space to work, you can expect ViviTouch in headphones, video game controllers, phones, tablets and any other smaller-sized gadget.

The witch is back but only for the Wii U. Bayonetta makes her awaited return with a new look and we couldn't be more happy to see her back. As one of our favorite games to come out of the Platinum Games camp, Bayonetta 2 delivers on what made the first one so awesome. Brutal torture kills, epic summons and crude humor that sparked our love for the anti-hero will surely have us busy on Bayonetta 2's launch day.

Release: Holiday season 2013

You can play used games, there aren't any daily internet check-ins and it's a hundred bucks cheaper than its competitor. The PS4 has become the holy grail for gamers within days of its last announcement because of its internal horsepower and roster of upcoming games like Destiny, Infamous: Second Son and Kingdom Hearts 3, there's no wonder why the PS4's pre-orders are so insane.

Release: Spring 2014

Our expectations for Titanfall weren't that high until we witnessed it for ourselves. Mixing giant mech robots with the style of a first person shooter is an instant winner around these parts. The lightning fast gameplay lends to an explosively chaotic string of battles where you won't even trip over getting killed, you'll just be hyped to respawn (no pun intended) and jump back into battle.

Since breaking ties with the Halo franchise, Bungie had been working on their role player/shooter Destiny. Now that it's coming closer the video game's release, we're finally hearing more about it. As the guardian of the last human city on earth, it's on you to cut down enemy aliens with an assortment of powerful guns and explosives.

Is it just us or does it seem like Aiden is going to become a popular name for video game characters this year? Unlike the Aiden in Beyond Two Souls, rogue vigilante Aiden Pearce in Ubisoft's thriller Watch_Dogs has been on our radar since last year's E3. The ability to hack everything from traffic lights to a city's electricity grid seems like hours of fun doing the very things we wish we could do in real life.

The same folks who put out the hit mobile/Facebook game Candy Crush Saga has brought us a new distraction in the form of Pet Rescue Saga. Instead of blasting shiny pieces of candy, players must now destroy blocks in order to save a variety of adorable animals. The mechanic works closely to that of Candy Crush Saga with only a few changes here and there so the learning curve is almost non-existent.

Sure, call us saps for Disney magic but we can't fron't on the <i>Kingdom Hearts</i> franchise's impeccable writing and all around fun gameplay. As the first <i>KH</i> game to come out on consoles since 2006, <i>Kingdom Hearts III</i> is what fans have been holding their breath for. Granted, the portable titles, <i>Coded<i> and <i>Dream Drop Distance</i> were decent enough to hold us over, but what fans really wanted was a full <i>Kingdom Hearts</i> experience. It looks like King Mickey Mouse was able to pull a few strings over at Square Enix.
