It’s a good day to be John McClane. Director Len Wiseman and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are reportedly working out a deal with Fox for a sixth installment in the Die Hard franchise and one "diehard" fan wants to lend a helping hand.
According to Uproxx, writer Eric D. Wilkinson took out a full page in The Hollywood Reporter to pitch his own version of the sequel. In the lengthy letter addressed to Wiseman, Bonaventura and star Bruce Willis, he proposed that a 60-year-old McClane heads to prison for murdering a suspect in a case from his past—which works well with reports that the film will allegedly “feature flashbacks to McClane’s days as a rough and tumble New York City cop in 1979.” You can read the entire thing here.
It’s unclear what producers thought of the pitch (if they even received it), but people on Twitter seemed to be on board.
