I know what you're thinking, but there's a lot more to this licensed game than meets the eye! (See what I did there?) High Moon Studios has done a fantastic job building a new Transformers canon that compliments the classic G1 material while simultaneously building a fun and engaging action game on top of it. The real surprise to Fall of Cybertron is how well the whole thing transforms into a multiplayer game.

Definitely not the most timely deal we've ever recommended, but Condemned: Criminal Origins is one of those special games from a few years back that deserves a little more attention. It's got a fantastically spooky atmosphere, plenty of good scares, and some of the most visceral pipe-to-face combat ever put into a game. It's like if Hotline Miami went first-person and replaced all the gangsters with derranged psychopaths and added elements of Slender's gameplay.

Doom 3 kinda sucked when it came out, but id Software and Bethesda felt it needed another chance on modern computers and so BFG Edition was born. With enhanced graphics and a few gameplay tweaks (no more off-handing the flashlight!) it's a much better game and suggests that history could have been a lot kinder to Doom 3 had they got it right the first time.
