The earthquake that disturbed my daily trip to Starbucks yesterday has cracked the Washington Monument. Initial reports that the quake left the monument on a permanent lean were inaccurate, but it did leave some damage. Reuters explains the crack is “in one of the stones in the monument's pyramidium — the pyramid shape at the very top — was detected during an inspection by helicopter."
While this is nothing biblical by any means, the monument is closed until further notice.
