According to the Associated Press, three gunman fired roughly 15 shots at a crowd that had gathered outside of East Flatbush's Emmanuel Church of God. The New York Daily News reports that a group of 40 convened for the service of Jose Luis Robles, 39, who passed away due to natural causes on April 16. The Daily News adds that one of the funeral's attendees returned fire, striking one of the gunman and causing the trio to retreat.

Furthermore, two women, ages 29 and 38, were in stable condition as of this morning. The Associated Press adds that man, 40, with a gunshot wound was found within blocks of the shooting. Police said he may be a suspect.

The Daily News notes that the investigation is still in its early stages:

People (were) shooting in front of the location in towards the church, and one shooting from the church out, NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said. Right now the investigation is early on, we're trying to figure things out about what happened.
