For over 60 years, a Northeast Philadelphia cheesesteak shop had been named "Chink's Steaks." That name, which is understandably upsetting, is no more. Now, the establishment is known as "Joe's Steaks & Soda Shop," and people are pissed.

The business, which had been known as "Chink's" since 1949, was named after Samuel "Chink" Sherman. Sherman earned the nickname as a youth because of his almond-shaped eyes. Though residents understand why the name Chink's might not be appropriate for a business in this climate (or ever), they don't want to let the name go. Unfortunately, it's not up to them.
