The former principal of a Missouri elementary school was arrested earlier this week for allegedly selling heroin on the side
The Associated Press reports that 33-year-old Joshua Foust was arrested early yesterday morning in Hannibal, Mo. He had just returned from Texas, where he was completing tasks related to his new job. According to the Associated Press, Foust resigned from his position at A.D. Stowell Elementary School on Feb. 2. It's unknown if he was aware of the investigation at the time.
According to the Associated Press, authorities learned about Foust's criminal activity via a tip, which prompted the search of his home:
Talbert said a tip sparked the investigation that led to a search of Samuel Foust's home last week. Officers found heroin and methamphetamine there and found heroin and methadone in the home of Joshua Foust, his wife and their young son, she said.
Talbert said the total amount of heroin seized could have produced around 800 capsules with a street value of between $8,000 and $12,000.
Foust is cooperating with authorities, who have found no evidence that he sold drugs to students. Two of his accomplices—His 31-year-old brother, Samuel, and Ryan Thompson, 32—were arrested, as well. All three face drug charges, and remain incarcerated.
