After his bond was set at $150,000 on Friday, George Zimmerman's release from jail was anticipated. Early this morning, Zimmerman walked out of John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, Fla. a free man. Aside from the sound of the flashing lights, there was an eerie calm as Zimmerman hopped into the back of a white BMW.

As a safety precaution, it is unknown where Zimmerman will be taken. Wherever he goes, authorities will be aware, as he's been fitted with a GPS monitoring device. His release comes as a bit of a surprise, as even his attorney Mark O'Mara expected him to remain in prison until the middle of the week.

Daryl Parks, an attorney for Trayvon Martin's family, says "It's tough for them to see their son's killer walk free again."
