According to court documents filed today, five weapons and a plethora of ammunition were discovered during a search of George Zimmerman's girlfriend's home.
The firearms included an AR-15, three handguns, and a 12-gauge shotgun. In addition, 106 rounds of ammunition and two AR-15 magazines were also discovered. The 30-year-old was arrested last week on domestic violence charges for allegedly pointing a shotgun at his new girlfriend, 27-year-old Samantha Scheibe, at her home near Apopka, Fla.
Zimmerman was charged with aggravated assault, domestic battery and criminal mischief. He was released on $9,000 bail after pleading not guilty. Under the provisions of his bail, Zimmerman cannot have contact with Scheibe, possess any weapons, leave the state of Florida and must wear a GPS monitoring device.
In July, Zimmerman was acquitted for fatally shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla. last February. Since his acquittal, he has had a series of strange run-ins with the law, including an arrest for allegedly attacking his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, and her father in September. Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce a little over a month after the verdict.
