A history of mental illness and bath salts led a Florida teenager to kill his mother and her boyfriend. 18-year-old Benjamin Bishop called the police immediately after killing his mother, 49-year-old Imari Shibata with a sawed-off shotgun. Bishop also killed her live-in boyfriend, 49-year-old Kelley Allen. Bishop, who just came home from a 10-month period in rehab, was furious after an argument about prescription pills.
Bishop was upset with his medication, allegedly telling his mother that it was "killing him." So, in turn, he killed his mother and her boyfriend. Below is the police statement on the murder:
Bishop reportedly pawned electronics to purchase the weapon for $279. Back in July 2011, Bishop, who's been diagnosed with schizophrenia, attempted to strangle his mother.
