Can you be intoxicated without even drinking? Yes, unfortunately. The International Journal of Clinical Medicine told the story of a 61-year-old man who strangely behave in a drunken matter despite not ingesting any alcohol. Barbara Cordell, dean of nursing at the Panola College said that the man would simpy "get drunk out of the blue." Confused, she and gastroenterologist Dr. Justin McCarthy decided to figure out why this man would show signs of intoxication while sober.

The problem was that the man suffers from "Auto-Brewery Syndrome," an extremely rare involves yeast clinging to the intestinal tract and creating a state of inebriation. After keeping him on a carb-heavy diet for a day, the duo noticed that the man's BAC level had inexplicably risen to 0.12. That's because the yeast in his stomach was essentially turning his intestines to a brewery.

There has to be an explanation for this, right? Fortunately, there is: illnesses that harm the immune system or antibiotics can be responsible for making your stomach a bottomless tall boy.
