At least all 3 minutes she watched of it.

Jennifer Lawrence stopped by Marc Maron’s WTF podcast for one of his trademark deep dive interviews, and the overall takeaway was that she straight up HATEDPhantom Thread, or at least the three minutes she watched of it. Side note: the film J-Law is shading is not only best-actor-alive and three-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day Lewis’ final performance (or so he says), but it also scored six Oscar nods including one for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson. It's a scorching hot take for sure,  but considering Lawrence won her first Oscar at the ripe age of 22, maybe she knows what she’s talking about.

"I got through about three minutes of it. I put in a good solid three. I’m sorry to anybody who loved that movie,” Lawrence told Maron. “I couldn’t give that kind of time. It was three minutes and I was just...oof," the Red Sparrow star said. Apparently those three minutes were enough for her to know what kind of film she was in for. “Is he kind of like a narcissistic sociopath and he’s an artist so every girl falls in love with him because he makes her feel bad about herself and that’s the love story? I haven’t seen it, so I don’t know. I’ve been down that road, I know what that’s like, I don’t need to watch that movie,” she said of DDL's idiosyncratic fashion designer Reynolds Woodcock. Damn.

Lawrence also made sure to clarify that the critique was in no way a subtle jab at her ex-boyfriend, mother! director Darren Aronofsky. The plot of his polarizing film, in which she starred, could have arguably been described in a similar way. Mind you, a lot of people hated that film too.

The rest of the interview is a delightful romp in which Lawrence shows off the natural charisma and blinding wit that helped turn her into one of the biggest movie stars in the world. You can listen to the whole thing here
