Will Smith Responds to Critics of His Gray Beard by CGI-ing It Onto His Iconic Roles

Make sure you wait until the end.

Will Smith has seen your remarks about his beard, so he jumped on Instagram on Monday to address the issue. 

"I've been reading all the comments, and all y'all talking crazy about my beard," Smith acknowledged. "Y'all talking about my beard." 

"I don't know why y'all act surprised," Smith fired back. "I've been rocking a beard forever."

His video cuts into a montage showing clips of his previous well-known roles in I, RobotMen in Black, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Aladdin, and The Pursuit of Happyness where the actor is rocking the same bushy beard that he has today. 

There's a great plot twist at the end of the montage when the beard placements go off the rails and the clip for Happyness shows his son and co-star Jaden with a beard of his own. 

Smith may have been initially growing out his beard for his portrayal of Richard Williams, father of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams, in the movie King Richard. Since filming was reportedly suspended earlier this month, the Ali star has no choice, but to grow out his facial hair, and wait for production to resume.  He also turned to the beard for some recent YouTube content:
