New Jersey native Karma Lawrence was grocery shopping with her wife Saturday night at a Trader Joe’s Clifton, New Jersey when she spotted a somewhat familiar face working as a cashier. The man in question was someone who bared a striking resemblance to Geoffrey Owens, who rose to fame playing Elvin Tibideaux on The Cosby Show. Lawrence snapped a photo of the man who appeared to be Owens with a salt and pepper beard and proceeded to share her findings on social media.

Her photo was picked up by news outlets that appeared to shame him for making an honest living just like the rest of us after time on the Cosby Show. “It was a shock to see him working there and looking the way he did,” Lawrence told the Daily Mail. "It made me feel really bad. I was like, "'Wow, all those years of doing the show and you ended up as a cashier.'"

While social media can be an unforgiving and depressing place most of the time, there was a slight glimmer of hope when many people bashed anyone who tried to humiliate Owens for doing what he had to do to make ends meet.

When I look at this picture of Geoffrey Owens, the only things that come to my mind are courage, humility and dedication. Very few artists, especially actors, can fully support themselves in their craft. Taking honest, hard work to offset those dry periods is honorable. pic.twitter.com/tql80NegJt
