Malaysia Airlines Backtracks on 'Ultimate Bucket List' Competition

An attempt to win back customers went badly wrong.

In response to one of the biggest PR gaffes in recent times, Malaysia Airlines have been forced to pull a campaign launched on Monday that asked customers in Australia and New Zealand to send in their 'Ultimate Bucket List' and get a chance to win an iPad and economy class tickets to Malaysia.

A similar contest is now live but the badly chosen wording has been replaced with 'ultimate to-do list'.

Malaysia Airlines has seen a dramatic drop in sales after two disasters this year—the disappearance of flight MH370 and the shooting down of a commercial plane over Ukraine. Last week, estimates came out saying the airline's operations are losing £1.6 million each day.
