The Paper Mario series is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch in July, Nintendo announced on Thursday. The Super Mario RPG follow-up series originated on the Nintendo 64 back in 2000, got sequels for GameCube, Wii, 3DS, then Wii U in 2016, and will now unleash Paper Mario: The Origami King. Nintendo also shared a trailer and some details on the new Switch-oriented features.

"The Paper Mario series arrives on #NintendoSwitch with an origami twist," Nintendo tweeted. "What evil paper shenanigans does the Origami King have planned?"

The Origami King is set to allow players to interact with the landscape of the game to help beat levels and solve puzzles.

Despite not having as many releases as other gaming consoles right now, the Switch has been seeing an increased cult-like following for its game Animal Crossing: New Horizons that released in mid-March. Maybe it's due to the fact that we've mostly been stuck indoors for over two months now and it helps us fill the void of being unable to put together dope fits in real life so we can do it in-game—or maybe we just have an odd collective desire for a farming lifestyle. Regardless of the reason, Animal Crossing could certainly keep the Nintendo Switch relevant through 2020 and beyond.
