Thankfully, the summer is nearly at an end and the fall title release season will finally be upon us.

Obviously with the launch of the PS4 and and the Xbox One, we are going to be awash with new titles. Watch Dogs, Grand Theft Auto VCall of Duty: GhostsFIFA 14, NBA 2K14, and more are all only a short way out. This fall is going to be massive and here are the titles that we are most pumped about seeing in our disc trays. Most of these titles have concrete release dates attached, but there are a few with the ominous TBA in place of a calendar entry. Hopefully, none of them get delayed to 2014.

In no particular order here is our list of The Most Anticipated Games for the Rest of 2013.

Shovel Knight

Release Date: September 2013
Platform: Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, Windows

A perfect example of the strategy Nintendo should continue to employ with their flagging Wii U. By embracing innovative smaller studios, and allowing them to develop for their console, Nintendo is guaranteed to attract more devs and gamers to their camp. With the success of titles like Rogue Legacy and the Ouya's Towerfall, it's clear that there is a starving audience for platforming Metroidvania titles. Shovel Knight, by all early accounts, is going to be similarly dope. Plus, your weapon is a sharpened shovel.

Dead State

Release Date: 12/3/2013
Platform: Windows

Slated for a December release, DoubleBear Productions is made up of ex-Black Isle, Troika and Obsidian devs. The upcoming Dead State for Windows is best described as Fallout + XCOM + The Walking Dead. What about that doesn't sound like a weekend killer? Lead designer Brian Mitsoda cites his experience living in Miami during Hurricane Andrew as an influence on the game's design.

Since the title will be a combination of resource management and tower defense, you are responsible for protecting the survivors of a zombiepocalypse. The developers hope the game 'works as a broader examination of how humans deal with a crisis beyond their control.'

Awesome.

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs

Release Date: 9/10/2013
Platform: Win, Mac, Lin

While the sequel to Amnesia: Dark Descent has nothing to do with pigs, and isn't really a sequel as much as a follow up, we do know that the developers at The Chinese Room will be doing their best to scare the shit out of you one more time.

The survival horror title will be set in an entirely new time period, with completely redesigned elements and enemy AI. The core of the title will remain intact and loyal to the original Amnesia. Victorian era horror by the people the brought us Dark Descent, wonderful, I was tired of sleeping peacfully.

The Wolf Among Us

Release Date: Q3
Platform:Windows, Mac OS X, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

It's understandable that we're eagerly anticipating Telltale Game's The Wolf Among Us. Considering that the developers have stated the title will fit into the continuity and canon of the Fables series only furthers my geek boner for this game.

Telltale dropped their game of the year bombshell in the immaculately crafted episodicThe Walking Dead, which went on to sell over 8.5 millions copies. When they announced that they would be turning their sights to the Fables universe, the realm of geek stood up at attention. When they doubled down by announcing that Bigby Wolf would be the protagonist, well, let's just say we've been waiting for the title for some time now.

The Walking Dead Season Two

Release Date: Q3
Platform: Dowloadable

We're assuming that you've enjoyed Telltale's flawless, game of the year joint, The Walking Dead. If not, get on it, because the second season of the downloadable title is forthcoming. Continuing to focus on the tense and emotionally taught gameplay of the first season, Telltale has announed plans to have player's saved files from season one, and the additional 400 Days, carry over to the second season. Clemtine will return as well as this third quarter release has many fans patiently waiting for another beautifully crafted experience of choice and consequence.

South Park: The Stick of Truth

Release Date: Q4
Platform: Windows,PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

Still existing in th realm of a TBA release date, Stick of Truth simply must drop in time for the holidays. We got to spend some hands on time with Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Ubisoft's RPG and what we saw was stunning. The level of detail, care, and attention that went into crafting the RPG elements are so well done. The game has been delayed more than once, what isn't these days, but if it has afforded the team more time to polish the title we're all for it.

The game feels like an organic extension of the show when played and just feels so damn smooth. Get on this.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Release Date: November
Platform: 3DS

While neither a direct sequel, nor a proper remake, Between Worlds will take place in the same world as the SNES classics A Link to the Past but star a new Link. The story is set to take place six generations after the original, and will also see the return of the Dark World from the SNES title. We've been hearing about this game for months and all of the footage we've seen is massively reassuring. Gonna be dope.
