A woman caught her husband smoking outside their home using Google Street View after he told her he'd kicked the habit. The man said he'd given up smoking and was eating better after going to the hospital for a heart attack. That was really his downfall—because one day, his wife found a lot of snacks in his car, and confronted him about it. He denied any wrongdoing (or wrong-eating), and stormed out of the house, leaving his wife with the most powerful tool at her disposal: the Internet.
The woman checked Google Street View later that day after hearing the Google car driving around her neighborhood. That's when she saw it: her husband standing outside, smoking.
"When Street View first launched, they didn't blur out faces, but there was no need to with him—he was covered by a cloud of smoke anyway," she said.
Ouch. He slept on the couch that night, but they both laugh about it now. "We joke about it now at family parties," said the woman. All photographic evidence of her husband's slip into old vices has been removed from Google Street View, but you can see the photo here.
