When the first trailer for Star Trek Beyond—the follow-up to J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness—came out at the end of last year, we got to see Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, and Zachary Quinto in action. There was also a blink-and-you'll-miss-it look at Idris Elba's Krall, the villain in Justin Lin's film, but the brief introduction wasn't enough to process the glory of this big bad. Now we have something else to add to our perception of Krall: another official photo for the film has been released, and it gives us a more rounded and sinister look at Elba's Krall.

Krall is seen lifting up Karl Urban by his neck in the new photo, showcasing the fear Krall will likely instill in all of us when the movie comes out this summer.
In addition to the context provided by the new photo, Elba sat down with EW to discuss the wicked Krall, who was specifically created for this film. Elba detailed how Krall fits into the Star Trek universe, and how he's surprisingly relatable:
Elba went on to describe how Krall differs from some of the other villains in the enterprise:
While it's unfortunate that we won't get to see the beauty of Elba's real face, this nefarious Krall character will surely add gripping drama to the flick and make our skin krall. Star Trek Beyond hits theaters July 22.
