ATTILA Film

New documentary ATTILA will be making its world premiere in Toronto on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Hot Docs Cinema.

That day also marks the 75th anniversary of World Mental Health Day. The doc, directed by Stephen Hosier, looks at the links between mental health, homelessness and opioids. The goal of ATTILA is to help reduce the stigma attached to homelessness and mental health by showing how it affects the community in a real way.

In Hosier's debut documentary, Richard Csanyi investigates the life and death of his twin brother, who was found dead homeless on a Hamilton complex rooftop in 2020, after grappling with addiction and schizophrenia for years.

The Toronto premiere will include include a post-screening panel discussion with experts talking about the subjects in the doc.
