When you’re buried under an avalanche of Instagram faux pas, what is the ideal solution? Make a documentary about yourself, of course!
The Wrap is reporting that James Franco, who has spent a lot of time makingnewslately, is actually the subject of a documentary from first-time director Lisa Vangellow. The movie is done shooting and is now being edited after filming commenced in June 2013, and it will center on the actor’s career both academically and in the arts. No word yet on the timing or structuring of its release.
What this news does do, though, is shed an interesting light on Franco’s increasingly public persona in recent months. Was it in part a ruse to drum up interest for his own films? An attempt to inject some controversy into his documentary? Or is he really just that oblivious with Instagram and that interested in underage girls?
Perhaps, with some footage from this movie, we'll begin to learn the truth.
