Before you even had a chance to get excited, Jake Gyllenhaal is already out of "Suicide Squad."

Well, that didn’t take long.
After losing Tom Hardy in the role of Suicide Squad leader Rick Flag earlier this week, the upcoming all-villain ensemble movie lost out on their backup choice: Jake Gyllenhaal.
Whether it’s because of prior commitments (as he says) or a fear of Jared Leto’s incessant self-quoting, Gyllenhaal passed on a chance to head up the August 2016 blockbuster. The movie starts shooting in April, so they better figure out just who is going to take on this key leadership role.
How is this not the perfect opportunity for Michael Keaton (as Riggan Thompson, obviously) to revive his career? Just change “Rick Flag” to “Birdman” and you’ve got yourself a perfect movie. You’re welcome, Hollywood.
