Scientology Reality Show Coming to TV With Help From Former Member

The Church of Scientology is not going to be too happy when it finds out a reality series about Scientology is allegedly coming to A&E with the help of former Scientologist/King of Queens star Leah Remini.

Citing sources, THRreported the currently untitled reality series will follow Remini's own ties to the church, which she broke off in 2013 after over 30 years. The series will also show the families of church members. News of the reality series began to pick up when Tony Ortega, who THR calls a Scientology chronicler, said Remini was developing a series that would examine the effects of the church on members' families. Remini discussed her Scientology background in her memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology last year.

Last year the Church of Scientology vehemently opposed critically acclaimed Scientology documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief and told THR in a letter: "In two hours this film racks up more falsehoods, errors, embellished tales and blatant omissions than were committed by Rolling Stone, Brian Williams and Bill O'Reilly>= combined."

The Remini developed series is expected to premiere in early 2017, but an A&E network rep didn’t confirm the series.

The Church of Scientology hasn't responded to Complex's request for comment.
