Fifty-one years ago today, Hollywood's Walk of Fame earned its first star thanks to a Georgia woman. That's a good enough reason for us to honor the state's finest ladies.

On this day in 1960, Georgia native Joanne Woodward, legendary actress and wife of Paul Newman, earned the first star on the ever-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Now with over 1,500 names now lining Los Angeles boulevards, it all began with the Academy Award-winning beauty from classics flicks such as The Three Faces of Eve. Yep, before seemingly anyone could get a star, including the WTF-worthy Donald Trump, beloved and talented entertainment industry staples were solely honored. But Woodward would not be the last from her humble state to make it big in Hollywood. Check out our list of celebrity women from the Peach State set to make their own stamp in history, or at least in our fantasies.

Danielle Panabaker

10. DANIELLE PANABAKER

Hometown: Augusta

Claim to fame: As much as we want to knock Disney, they've scouted almost half of the breakthrough young women in Hollywood. New case in point: Danielle Panabaker. From Disney's Sky High to last year's solid horror remake The Crazies, and next on to the upcoming Renaissance Girl, Panabaker is yet another hottie (of age) whose career hasn't slowed down after stardom on the Mickey Mouse channel.

Chilli

9. CHILLI

Hometown: Atlanta

Claim to fame: In the '90s, Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas was the sexiest member of the classic R&B trio TLC, known for hits like "Waterfalls" and "Creep." Nowadays, she's starring in her very own VH1 reality series, What Chilli Wants, which documents her quest to find love. To think, we once believed she and Usher made the perfect power couple. Availability suits her quite well.

Monica

8. MONICA

Hometown: Oak Park
Claim to fame: Despite the fact that she hit her highest notes back in the late '90s/early 2000s with "The Boy is Mine" and "So Gone," the R&B songstress has had no trouble finding someone to settle down with; she recently announced her marriage to Los Angeles Lakers' shooting guard Shannon Brown.

Julia Roberts

7. JULIA ROBERTS

Hometown: Smyrna
Claim to fame: Regardless of the claims that she doesn't want to be immortalized on the Walk of Fame, Roberts doesn't need her own star to establish what the entire world already knows: She is a superstar (no Mary Katherine Gallagher intended). The Academy Award winner, and star of prestigious chick flicks like Pretty Woman and Eat, Pray, Love, is the definition of A-List and one of the most quintessentially (and arguably most successful) American actresess of all time.

AnnaLynne McCord

6. ANNALYNNE MCCORD

Hometown: Atlanta
Claim to fame: Despite playing the rich, stuck-up Queen B of 90210 perfectly, in reality, the southern belle actually hails from humble origins. Look out for this rising starlet in Blood Out, co-starring 50 Cent and Val Kilmer, which should be released (most likely directly to your local DVD shop) this year. She might need to have a talk with her agent.

Ciara

5. CIARA

Hometown: Atlanta
Claim to fame: After being born in Texas and moving everywhere from Germany to Nevada, this former U.S. Army brat and her family finally settled down in Atlanta. There, the R&B recording artist with freakish (in the best way) dance moves cultivated her talents and has since released multiple hits, such as "1,2 Step," her latest, "Gimmie Dat," and, of course, we can't forget about her "Goodies."

Dianna Agron

4. DIANNA AGRON

Hometown: Savannah

Claim to fame: Glee's hottest Cheerio is hitting the big screen this year, starring alongside co-star/boyfriend Alex Pettyfer, in the upcoming teen science fiction film I Am Number Four. You may have seen her big-screen debut in last year's Burlesque, but you most likely missed it because the film looked like Glee for mid-life crisis cougars.

Kelly Rowland

3. KELLY ROWLAND

Hometown: Atlanta
Claim to fame: Beyonce isn't the only one-third of Destiny's Child (or one-fourth, depending on personal preference) doing the sexy solo thing pretty well. Since signing to a new label, Universal Motown Records, Rowland has completed her third studio album (pushed back for release sometime this year), which will feature her hit single with David Guetta, "Commander." In the meantime, her second collaboration with Nelly, on his latest single, "Gone," is keeping her on radio rotation.

Cat Power

2. CAT POWER

Hometown: Atlanta
Claim to fame: This singer/songwriter can melt a man with her breathy vocals. Her impeccable covers of classics by Bob Dylan, Oasis and, most famously, Phil Phillips' "Sea of Love," along with her own albums, such as 2006's The Greatest, are what have made her a staple within the indie/blues/folk genres, as well as the sexy bedtime-music scene.

Chanel Iman

1. CHANEL IMAN

Hometown: Atlanta
Claim to fame: As Victoria's Secret's newest angel, this 20 year-old supermodel already has an impressive career laid out. The half-African American/half-Korean Los Angeles native, by way of Georgia, has walked runways for high-fashion designers such as Balenciaga, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent. She was also name-dropped in Kanye's "Christian Dior Denim Flow." If her creds don't make her legit, being born with a designer's name definitely helps.
