The audition phase to find Regis Philbin's replacement for ABC's Live! morning show is drawing to a close, and it has come down to three final contenders: Michael Strahan, Josh Groban, and Seth Meyers. And, per Vulture, Meyers, the veteran Saturday Night Live writer and "Weekend Update" anchor, is the front-runner to join Live! stalwart Kelly Ripa.
Which begs the question: If he lands the Live! gig, will Meyers be the next to leave SNL? As Vulture states, he could, logistically, keep his "Weekend Update" gig while working alongside Ripa during the week. Only time will tell.
