After another recent round of price changes and a newly enforced streaming limitation left Netflix users feeling disgruntled yet again, company head Reed Hastings has announced that Netflix will be spinning off a new company, Quikster, to handle the DVD shipments entirely.

The announcement came in the form of a video on the company blog, where Hastings explained the need for the split, citing a lack of compatibility between the two services. By splitting the cost into two different services, Hastings hopes that each company can innovate separately.

To begin those innovations, Quikster will be introducing video game shipments for an added price, much like the current Blu-Ray option. Meanwhile, the original Netflix, now exclusively a source of streaming content, has promised an expanded selection soon.
