David Hasselhoff has issued a statement after his ex-wife, Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, died at age 62.
On Wednesday night, Bach-Hasselhoff was found dead at her Los Angeles home. TMZ reported that she appeared to have died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, the Los Angeles medical examiner hasn’t yet shared an official cause of death.
"Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” Hasselhoff said in statement to People. "We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
The former couple were married from 1989 to 2006 and share two daughters, 34-year-old Taylor and 32-year-old Hayley. While they haven’t directly addressed their mother’s death, Hayley reposted an old photo of her parents from 1996 to her Instagram Story with a white heart emoji.
The former couple initially met on the set of Knight Rider when she was a guest star in the mid-'80s. After they wed in 1989, Bach-Hasselhoff appeared on Baywatch and The Young and the Restless, among other shows.
The Hasselhoff's first daughter Taylor was born in 1990, and Hayley was born in 1992. The couple divorced in 2006 and were given joint custody of their kids. Hasselhoff later married model Hayley Roberts in 2018.
