Chadwick Boseman has reportedly landed his next big role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 41-year-old actor has been tapped to star in the Spike Lee-directed drama Da 5 Bloods. The film will center on a group of Vietnam veterans who return to the jungle "to find their lost innocence" and "to put their broken selves back together." Da 5 Bloods is based on an original screenplay by Danny Bilson and Paul DeMeo, with a rewrite by Matthew Billingsly. Lee will also produce the project alongside Jon Kilik as well as Beatriz and Lloyd Levin.

Delroy Lindo (Gone in 60 Seconds) and Jean Reno (Léon: The Professional) are also in negotiations to star.

"To quote my Brother JAY-Z from Da People's Republic of Brooklyn, 'Onto Da Next One,' Lee said in a statement.

Netflix is in talks to distribute Da 5 Bloods, which would mark the firs Lee-directed film for the streaming giant. He currently executive produces Netflix's She's Gotta Have It, the small-screen adaptation of his 1986 comedy-drama. There's also reports Netflix will also distribute the Lee-produced travel drama See You Yesterday.

"Netflix is incredibly disruptive, and I think streaming and Netflix is the future of cinema. You can have access to it anytime and anywhere. That is what people need," Lee said during a panel discussion back in September. "[...] Netflix is a friend of young filmmakers. These people need product. Netflix spent $8 billion this year only for film and series."

Sources told Variety that Da 5 Bloods could begin filming as early as next month, after Lee concludes his Oscars campaign. The director is up for three Academy Awards for BlacKkKlansman: Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Picture.
