'Suicide Squad' Cast Unleashes a Fire Sneak Peak at the MTV Movie Awards

In theatres August 5.

Tonight's MTV Movie Awards brought us some great pop culture nuggets. Co-hosts Kevin Hart and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson were enough of a sell with their comedic relief, and performances by both Halsey and Ariana Grande kept it lit. But arguably the real highlight of tonight's awards show was brought to us by Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Cara Delevingne, a.k.a. the stars of DC Comics' upcoming cinematic magnum opus. As if hype for Suicide Squad—i.e. this summer's most anticipated anti-hero blockbuster—hadn't already reached a fever pitch, the cast just dropped a fire exclusive clip from the film.

The "worst of the worst" bad guys, who're matched by Jared Leto's insane Joker, are a special task force assembled by the United States government to save the world. You've got Will Smith as Deadshot, living up to his name; Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, really selling us on the whole so-scary-it's-kinda-sexy vibe; and then Jared Leto, doing as much as possible in an effort to top anyone and everyone who has played the Joker before him. The cast is stacked, and this preview is a pretty convincing salvo that Suicide Squad may be the movie of the summer.

If your appetite for all things Suicide Squad isn't satiated with the above clip, you can peep the wild 2-minute trailer for the film below.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
