Sony's feature-length Miles Morales-focused Spider-Man movie is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 14, but before it's out Sony and Marvel have shared another tantalizing look at the gorgeous animated film before it's out. The newly released clip from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sees Morales interacting with the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker.

In the clip the two find themselves in a bit of predicament, forcing them to both escape before Morales has even got a full handle on his abilities. Parker reluctantly teaches Morales how to swing through the forest, leading the way until they're met by Gwen Stacy's Spider-Gwen, who brings them both to a sudden stop.

The early reception to the film has been overwhelmingly positive, with the Rotten Tomatoes score sitting at an impressive 100 percent with 30 reviews as of this publication. Sony and Marvel must be very happy with the critical reception so far, especially after Venom received a decidedly lukewarm response when it debuted back in October despite bringing in quite a lot of money for them.

Sony is already developing an Into the Spider-Verse sequel, and they've also committed to a female-led spinoff focusing on three different Spider-Women, with Gwen Stacy as the main character. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the team behind 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie as well as Into the Spider-Verse, will be involved in both projects.

Swae Lee recently nominated himself to play the first live-action portrayal of Miles Morales, telling TMZ, "It's only right, if anyone's gonna be the first black Spider-Man in a real movie it should be me. Especially because I made the soundtrack Miles Morales was singing in the movie, it's only right I be the black Spider-Man, so Marvel, we need to get together."
