The truly horrifying Atlanta character Teddy Perkins, who was portrayed by Donald Glover in the series, turned up to the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards, confusing a lot of fans. Stranger yet, no one seems to know who was under the makeup after multiple pictures of Glover posing with Perkins at the ceremony appeared online. Issa Rae of Insecure fame, for one, thought it was actually Glover who went to the Emmys as Perkins.
"I had just finished talking to Teddy, thinking it was Donald the whole time," she revealed on Twitter.
In the picture, the shock on Rae's face can clearly be seen. It seems that no one knows who was playing Teddy Perkins that night, or at least no one who is willing to reveal who's responsible. Earlier theories had people believing Lakeith Stanfield was responsible, but when a photo of him hanging out with whoever Perkins was popped up, it was back to the drawing board.
The prevailing theory right now, however, is that Jay Pharoah is the man under the mask. Entertainment Tonight even reported that a source told them it was Pharoah, who shared the above photo on his own Instagram.
