Nicole Kidman is known for giving performances her all, but it looks as if she's going the extra mile in the upcoming crime thriller Destroyer. In a newly released trailer, the Australian actress is pretty much unrecognizable. Check it out above.
Destroyer follows Kidman's LAPD detective Erin Bell, trying to confront the members of a gang she previously investigated in an attempt to overcome her past traumas. It's a very different looking role for the Big Little Lies star, with early reception indicating a memorable performance unlike anything she's done before.
While at the BFI's 2018 London Film Festival, Kidman had nothing but praise for director Karyn Kusama. "I loved that Karyn is just so uncompromising, and I love that she has a muscularity to her filmmaking but also a poetry," she explained. "She's very raw and very willing to go to places that other filmmakers aren't."
Destroyer is also set to star Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn, and Scoot McNairy. The thriller premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in August, and will hit theaters later this year on Dec. 25.
