MTV's 'The Challenge' Will Now Include Contestants' Family Members, Because No One Is Safe

Ladies and gentlemen, The Challenge is back.

The R&D department over at Bunim-Murray has clearly been busy keeping both The Challenge and The Real World fresh over the past couple of years. Last year they brought the "skeletons" concept to The Real World and instantly revived the series (just watch this unreal minute of television), and now they've once again found a new format to bring to The Challenge.

For The Battle of the Bloodlines, which premieres on Dec. 2, MTV got career Challenge contestants to force their siblings, cousins, and other miscellaneous blood relatives to come on the show and compete. Because if there's anything I haven't gotten from The Challenge yet, it's being able to see the show ruin the bonds of brotherhood. "Is this a blatant rip-off of Survivor: Blood vs. Water?" you might ask yourself, to which I'd respond, "Shut up, FOH, the cool kids are talking about The Challenge, you CBS viewer."

Finally, any and all trepidation I have about the exploitative nature of having the sister of Diem Brown, who passed away from cancer last year, on this season is washed away by this quote from the trailer: "You wanna tell me you love me? P.S., I've been f**king other dudes."

God I'm so glad this is back.
