The first full-length trailer for The Predator has arrived, and it is as terrifying as expected.

The fourth installment of the series brings the same monstrous creatures that hunted Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1987 back to Earth. But these aren’t the exact same aliens of yesteryear. According to the film’s synopsis, these hunters have “genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species.” In this trailer we see a crew of soldiers trying to take down the newly evolved, violent extraterrestrial.

The flick was helmed by Shane Black, who also directed Iron Man 3. Black also had a small role playing Rick Hawkins in the '87 original. The first teaser trailer for the latest of the the sci-fi/horror series dropped back in May, and depicted a kid accidently calling the aliens back to Earth. It’s been eight years since the last Predator film, but actor Keegan-Michael Key revealed it's "not a sequel.” In fact, the story takes place in between the 1990 film Predator 2 and 2010's Predators.

"[It has] lots of elements of humor," Key said in a 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly. "It certainly lives in the universe of the five films that were made. I think that's probably the best way to say it and the only way I can say it right now." The five films include the Alien vs. Predator crossovers from 2004 and 2007.

The Predator stars Key, Jake Busey, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Thomas Jane. It hits theaters on Sept. 14.
