It's Predator 4 time.

In the first teaser trailer for The Predator, the sci-fi/horror series' first outing since 2010, a kid inadvertently calls the aliens back to Earth. The story this time actually takes place between 1990's Predator 2 and 2010's Predators. Keegan-Michael Key, who stars in the film, confirmed it's "not a sequel" either.

"[It has] lots of elements of humor," Key said in a 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly. "It certainly lives in the universe of the five films that were made. I think that's probably the best way to say it and the only way I can say it right now." (The fifth of the bunch being 2004's Alien vs. Predator.)

Shane Black, who directed Iron Man 3 and played the small role of Rick Hawkins in the original 1987 Predato, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, is in the director's chair. He says the film will dive into explaining the backstory behind the Predators.

"This one definitely falls in line with the original franchise in that it does focus on the technology that the Predators have," said one of the film's stars, Jake Busey, to PopCulture.com. "It focuses on what the goal of the Predators is, and what their modus operandi, and why they come to the planet, and that type of thing. It's definitely in line with the original franchise." Jake's dad, Gary Busey, portrayed Peter Keyes in Predator 2. Now Jake will play his dad's onscreen son as well.

The Predator stars Key, Busey, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Thomas Jane. It's scheduled to arrive in theaters on Sept. 14.
