Kanye West apologized earlier this week for using his phone during the opening night of The Cher Show on Broadway. Now his wife Kim Kardashian is here to help explain Ye's “rude” behavior.

In an interview with E! News, the beauty mogul claims Kanye used his phone during the show to take notes because he felt so inspired. "He felt like shit," she said, referring to the backlash. "He was actually taking notes because he loved the production so much."

Actor Jarrod Spector, who plays Sonny Bono in the production, called Kanye out on Twitter over his phone use. “Hey @kanyewest so cool that you’re here at @TheCherShow!” Spector wrote. “If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here. It’s opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much.”

Kim says her husband immediately decided to apologize. "He was the one right away who said, 'Oh my God, I'm gonna tweet. I just need to apologize. There's no excuses. It was rude and I need better etiquette,'" she said.

“To Cher and the Cher show team the dynamics of Cher and Sonny’s relationship made Kim and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’ please pardon my lack of etiquette,” Kanye wrote in a since-deleted apology tweet. “We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece.”
