The relationship between Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson is punctuated by tattoos, but Grande's recent ink may be the most meaningful thus far. It appears the pop star now has “8418” inked on her ankle, the badge number of Davidson’s late father.

The Saturday Night Live actor’s father was a firefighter who died during the 9/11 attacks in New York City. The singer's new tattoo mirrors Davidson’s own—he has the number inked on his left forearm. The ink was spotted by fans who noticed it when the couple hit the town last week.

Before the couple announced they were engaged, Davidson got two tattoos dedicated to his “No Tears Left to Cry” lover: one bunny ears tat behind his ear, and another of her initials on his hand. The two also reportedly have matching cloud tattoos. Davidson also seems to have copied Grande's "H2GKMO" tattoo.

In an interview withPage Six, Pete's tattoo artist Jon Mesa said he warned the comedian against getting anymore girlfriend tats, after he had to cover up one tattoo dedicated to Davidson's former girlfriend Cazzie David. “I told Pete, ‘Hey, dude, let’s just stop with the girlfriend tats until after [Grande’s] your wife,’” Mesa said. “Because relationships come and go, and Pete is a really young man. [But] I think that went in one ear and out the other.”

The internet’s current favorite couple got engaged last month after only a few weeks in the public eye. Davidson confirmed everyone's growing suspicions that the engagement is “fucking lit” during an appearance on The Tonight Show. "I feel like I won a contest," he said. "It's so sick.”
