UPDATED 3/17/20 at 10:20 p.m. ET: Tom Hanks went on IG to provide an update after he and his wife Rita Wilson were released from the hospital.
Hey folks. Good News: One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch. Bad news: My wife @ritawilson has won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points. But I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick. I travelled here with a typewriter, one I used to love. We are all in this together. Flatten the curve. Hanx

On the same day that Idris Elba announced he'd tested positive for the novel coronavirus, another very famous person (Tom Hanks) revealed that he and his wife, the also famous Rita Wilson, had vacated the hospital after being diagnosed with the same affliction last week.
According to PEOPLE, Hanks and Wilson left a Queensland, Australia hospital and are now resting up in a rental home. A rep for Hanks said that the pair are still under quarantine. They had revealed their positive tests for the illness just five days ago.
“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” Hanks said in an Instagram post this past Wednesday.
The star of
Forrest Gump You've Got Mail had been in Australia as part of pre-production for an untitled biopic about Elvis Presley. He was set to assume the role of Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Obviously production has shutdown for the moment as a result of his diagnosis. He is believed to be the only person on set who tested positive for the virus.
The 63-year-old star of
Cast Away You've Got Mail had promised to keep the world updated on his condition, but so far that has only necessitated two Instagram posts. First, this A League of Their Own-inspired one:
And then, second, this Mr. Rogers inspired one:
Hopefully that's all that's needed but, if not, You've Got Mail has some quotes that'd probably work.
Chet Hanks also gave an update on the condition of his parents. Check that out below.
