Aaron Wallace had it all. A successful business, supportive friends, and a loving family. But all that was taken from him when he was wrongfully convicted and given a life sentence. Now motivated to return to the world he once knew, ABC’s “For Life” takes a look at the long road Aaron must walk to go from incarcerated felon to prison lawyer to free man.
The new hour-long scripted drama is inspired by the real life of Isaac Wright Jr., who became a licensed attorney after going to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. As a jailhouse lawyer, Wright Jr. helped overturn several convictions for inmates, including himself.
“Becoming a lawyer is what’s getting me out. Everything I do is about getting back to my family,” Wallace says in the show's trailer.
Created by Hank Steinberg and executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the pilot episode, directed by George Tillman Jr., stars Nicholas Pinnock as Wallace, Joy Bryant as his estranged wife Marie, Tyla Harris as his daughter Jasmine, and Boris McGiver as District Attorney Maskins, the villain responsible for all his troubles.
“For Life” premieres tonight February 11 at 10pm Eastern on ABC.
