The film Downhill has received an official trailer from Fox Searchlight.
Starring Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the black comedy shows what Ferrell’s character does when he comes face-to-face with what he believes is an avalanche. Instead of protecting his wife and children, he runs away and leaves his family while rescuing his iPhone.
The movie is a remake of Ruben Östlund’s 2014 film Force Majeure, where the main character prioritizes his own safety over his family's. Game of Thrones alum Kristofer Hivju, who was in the OG film, will also star in Downhill. The film, which is directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, is scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2020 and to premiere at Sundance Film Festival on January 26.
Ferrell recently hosted his fifth episode of Saturday Night Live, where Ryan Reynolds also made an appearance. The two actors are set to co-star in the forthcoming musical re-imagining of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The film was picked up by Apple in October and appears to have no release date.
