TMZ reports Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary and his wife Linda are being sued by the parents of Susanne Brito, the woman who was killed in a boating accident in Lake Joseph in Ontario, Canada in late August.

Rosa and Antonio Ragone explained the reasoning behind their lawsuit on behalf of their daughter through their attorney Patrick Brown. "For this grieving family, it is about obtaining civil justice so as to prevent these types of deaths and curtailing reckless and dangerous behavior from continuing on our lakes," the statement reads.

Brito and Gary Poltash were killed after their boat was rammed into by a smaller vessel driven by Linda O'Leary, who has since been charged with careless operation of a vessel. Ontario Provincial Police have concluded that she was driving at an unsafe speed of 17 MPH at the time of the accident.

In a statement following the incident, Kevin acknowledged that he and his wife fled the scene, but also maintained that the boat carrying the other two failed to turn on their navigation lights. Richard Ruh, the driver of the other vessel, has been charged with driving a boat without navigation lights, and is also facing a lawsuit for his role in the crash.

"Our family has lost a beautiful, loving person. We are devastated," Rosa Ragone said. "We sincerely hope that through this process, that justice is served and that steps are taken so that innocent victims like Suzie are not seriously injured and killed and that other families do not have to go through such pain and loss."
