Saturday Night Live's cold open continued its streak of aiming at Trump. This week's focus is the impeachment inquiry

During this week's cold opener, Beck Bennett—who reprises his role as Vice President Mike Pence—starts by holding court with Kate McKinnon's Rudy Giuliani and Aidy Bryant's Attorney General William Barr. Pence is having Giuliani and Barr explains the inquiry to him so that he can decide his next steps. Barr tries to soothe him, but Pence is obviously overwhelmed by assuming Trump's responsibilities while he's out shopping for "alligator breeders to fill the moat at the border."

During their conversation about the second whistleblower, Matthew Broderick appears on the screen as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. His cameo leads to several Ferris Bueller references, including telling Pence "impeachment happens pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around, you might miss it."

The bit also looks at the multiple changes to Trump's cabinet.

"The only original cabinet member left is Ben Carson," Bryant says, only to have Kenan Thompson's Ben Carson burst in the room. Carson questions the importance of his position as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and asks the room if they would provide him with the password to his computer.

Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge was the host of this week's episode as Taylor Swift served as the musical guest. Watch the cold open above.
