Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are giving the people what they want with Bad Boys for Life, the long-awaited sequel to the highly profitable franchise. Wednesday, Sony Pictures Entertainment decided to reignite the hype with a proper trailer.

Up top, catch the nearly three-minute glimpse at Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah's take on the detectives-driven, 1995-originated franchise. Original franchise stars Smith and Lawrence are joined by Thomas Brag, Jacob Scipio, Paola Núñez, Joe Pantoliano, Vanessa Hudgens, Nicky Jam, and DJ Khaled in the stacked cast.

As longtime followers of news of the Bad Boys III variety already know, there's been word of some kind about a threequel floating through headlines for more than a decade now, since-abandoned release dates and multiple pushbacks included. Bad Boys II dropped in 2003.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were announced as the sequel's directors in January 2018, the same month Varietyincluded them on their list of 10 Directors to Watch. The Belgian creative duo's previous credits include a pair of Snowfall episodes and the 2015 feature-length project Black.

Bad Boys for Life hits theaters Jan. 17, 2020. While we wait, we might as well learn a thing or three about spaghetti-making from Martin Lawrence:
