It's confirmed: The much-anticipated Black Panther sequel will hit the big screen on May 6, 2022.

Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige announced the release Saturday during Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Feige told the crowd director Ryan Coogler, who helmed the original 2018 blockbuster, had already submitted a film treatment that included a title and a villain; however, he and the filmmaker remained tight-lipped on the details.

"We’re really hard at work on it trying to give you something special," Coogler said after joining Feige on stage."We’re gonna take our time; we want it to be right."
