Kevin Spacey was interviewed by the Scotland Yard police force earlier this year in connection to sexual assault allegations against him in the U.K.
London's police called Spacey in for questioning with their Complex Case Team. Spacey met with the team voluntarily, according tothe Hollywood Reporter. He was not arrested and has not been charged with any crimes in that country.
The meeting was in regards to six separate sexual assault allegations against Spacey going back decades. The claims run as far back as 1996, and the most-recent allegation comes from 2013.
"In May 2019, a man was voluntarily interviewed under caution in America, by officers from the Met’s Complex Case Team,” a Scotland Yard rep told THR. "He was not arrested. Inquiries are ongoing."
Back in the United States, Spacey has been charged with felony sexual assault. The actor is currently fighting a case that alleges he assaulted a young man in a Nantucket bar in 2016. The alleged victim's mother came forward with the claims, saying that the #MeToo movement gave her son the strength to reveal what happened to him.
"The climate in this country is changing. There's a shift," Heather Unruh, the mother, said. "There is less victim-blaming going on now. I was really emboldened by the victims in the Harvey Weinstein case. They were astonishingly brave women and they've come out in such large numbers and it sparked a lot of conversation in our house about it being the right time."
Unruh said that Spacey forced his hands down her son's pants at the bar, causing him to panic. She said that he fled the bar on the advice of a stranger when Spacey went to the restroom.
"My son was a starstruck, straight 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim," she said in a press conference.
The allegations against Spacey began when actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of assaulting him Rapp he was 14 years old. Spacey responded to that allegation publicly, saying he doesn't remember the incident.
